chicago (lansing) tribute, los angeles tribute being planned and new elliott shirt!

thanks to matt for sending us info about an upcoming tribute show in chicago in october that he is putting on! the show will be in the south suburbs of chicago at stand-up comics (a comic book store) and a chunk of the money collected will be going towards the elliott smith memorial fund! :) thanks to matt and everyone involved for doing this. anyway here is matt with more information: the show will be on october 21st, a saturday night, and cost $6 (with 4 dollars going to esmf and 2 going to the venue) and go from about 6 pm until 10 pm as of right now, the acts confirmed are: the encyclopedias (headlining), matt heckler (that's me, bring the ky from the boards), todd stephanuik, felix bieker, and eric garneau, formerly of pedestrian. stand-up comics is located at 3429 ridge rd, lansing, il 60438 if you need any other information to include, e-mail me back, and also include my e-mail for people wo have questions: theysangthesolo@gmail.com.

recently, i was visiting some sites including the official elliott smith store at cinderblock and i saw that they have a new elliott smith shirt for sale! the black shirt features elliott's picture from the 'from a basement on the hill' album cover, autumn dewilde's artwork of elliott's name that was also featured on the cover of the record and lyrics or poem in elliott's handwriting. not only is it nice to get an elliott shirt but if you buy from cinderblock proceeds of sales of the shirts and the other items featured there (including more shirts!) will go directly to the elliott smith memorial fund! anyway if you would like to order a shirt or something else featured in the elliott smith official store, please go to cinderblock and if you would like to see a larger picture of the shirt, please click on the image on the left.

finally, i am giving up this version of the site (that is why u are seeing another font for the news today). it's been a real pain so i am in the process of redesigning the site for the last time! i promise! :P it's going to be old school sweet adeline with a new look. sadly, things from this version will disappear like the search bar and comments but it will be ok. anyway thanks for your patience. hopefully things will be back in order one of these days :\ xo (08.17.06)

all those years ago...

today, august 6th, we remember elliott on what would've been his 37th birthday. i hope everyone who loves elliott is able to take a moment to remember elliott in some way. it goes without saying that we miss elliott very much and wish we had the opportunity of having more time with him. we send out good thoughts to elliott's family & friends and wish them happiness. happy birthday, elliott. we love you.
