(4.29.03) elliott's condition elliott suffered a severe injury in november which has progressively gotten worse. he has continued playing shows despite the chronic pain and subsequent treatment issues. he recently had an adverse reaction to a new medication prescribed to him and he is now undergoing different treatment for this injury. at this time he is hesitant to reschedule or schedule any shows until he feels confident that the treatment is healing him and that it will enable him to play shows. he would like to express his sincere regret for any inconvenience that the cancelled show caused anyone. he will reschedule, it's just a matter of when, and that is better assessed with the help of his doctors in the next month or so. (4.13.03) april 1st show and back online! thanks to lido for recently posting his thoughts on the recent show at the detroit bar in costa mesa on april 1st on the yahoo! elliott smith group. here it is: "elliott played really well. he did that built to spill song "car" and stopped before the end for some reason, but then later in the set he played it again and finished it. the drummer robin played about half the set with him like he did at the henry fonda theater shows. the opening band was the 88s. they were great too and came out on stage during the encores and then for the last song they played along with elliott on can't make a sound and it was amazing. they obviously spent some time arranging the song and even though the mix wasn't that great, it was good and you could tell they knew the song really well. the other noteworthy songs were memory lane and distorted reality. he started playing see you later but didn't finish that. he seemed to be happy and as loopy as ever." also just
